InstaBizIntel — Privacy Notice

Last updated: 18 October 2026 · Prepared with reference to India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025.

1. Who we are

InstaBizIntel is a statistics, research and business-intelligence platform operated by Dr. Subhabaha Pal (InstaDataHelp), who is the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. The service is delivered at https://instabizintel.instadatahelp.com/, through the optional InstaBizIntel Chrome extension (a launcher only), and through AI-assistant connectors (MCP) that you choose to authorise.

2. Personal data we collect and why

  • Account details — name, email, mobile / WhatsApp number and a hashed password: to create and secure your account and to contact you about it.
  • Content you upload or create — datasets, charts, dashboards, reports, analyses, AI conversations: solely to provide the service to you. Your content is private to your workspace unless you share it.
  • Usage and presence records — features used, analyses run, days and time active, device label, IP-derived approximate location, browser: to show your activity history, enforce single-device and fair-use limits, prevent abuse and improve the product.
  • Sign-up attribution — the page or campaign (e.g. UTM tags) through which you first arrived: to understand which outreach works. No third-party advertising trackers are used.
  • AI usage metering — model name and token counts per day: to apply plan limits and manage cost. The content of prompts is not stored in the meter.
  • Payment records — transaction reference, amount, plan and status (never card or bank details): to activate Premium and meet accounting and tax obligations.

3. Consent

We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give at sign-up, and for legitimate uses permitted by law (for example security, fraud prevention and legal compliance). You may withdraw consent at any time — see section 7. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, but we will then stop providing the service to that account and erase it as described below.

4. Who processes data for us

We share personal data only with service providers that help run InstaBizIntel, under contractual obligations of confidentiality and security:
  • PayU — payment processing. Card and banking details are entered on PayU's pages and never reach us.
  • AI model providers (as configured, e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI or Google) — when you use the AI Analyst / InstaGenie, the question and the minimum necessary dataset summary are sent to generate a response. Statistical, ML, PLS-SEM, SPC and qualitative computations run on our own server and are not sent to AI providers. An administrator can switch AI off entirely.
  • Backblaze B2 — encrypted object storage for uploaded files and backups.
  • Crossref and OpenAlex — reference metadata only (titles, DOIs) when you use the Citation checker; no personal data is sent.
  • AI assistants you connect (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT via MCP) — only after you approve the connection, and only to act on your requests. You can disconnect them at any time from My profile → Connected apps.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Storage, security and transfers

Data is stored on our servers and in encrypted backups. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; database connection credentials are encrypted at rest; connections use HTTPS. Some service providers above may process data outside India; we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.

6. Retention

  • Account and workspace content: while your account is active, and erased when you ask us to (section 7) or when you withdraw consent.
  • Security and access logs: at least 180 days, as required by CERT-In directions.
  • Payment records: for the period required by tax and accounting law (generally 8 years).

7. Your rights and how to exercise them

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access a summary of your personal data, to correct, complete or update it, to have it erased, to withdraw consent, to nominate a person to exercise these rights on your behalf, and to grievance redressal.
  • Download your data: My profile → Your data & privacy → Download my data.
  • Correction, erasure, consent withdrawal or a grievance: raise a request from My profile → Your data & privacy, or email the Grievance Officer below.
  • We respond to requests within 30 days and usually much sooner. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

8. Personal data breaches

If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board without delay, describing what happened, the likely consequences, what we are doing about it and what you can do, and will report cyber-security incidents to CERT-In within the required time.

9. Children

InstaBizIntel is intended for adults (students in higher education, researchers and professionals). We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent; if you believe this has happened, contact us and we will erase the account.

10. The Chrome extension

The extension only opens the InstaBizIntel web app. It does not read the pages you browse, inject scripts into other websites, collect browsing history or use tracking. Its host permission is limited to the InstaBizIntel domain. Removing the extension does not delete your account.

11. Grievance Officer and contact

Dr. Subhabaha Pal, Grievance Officer, InstaBizIntel — subhabaha@msn.com. Please include the email address of your account so we can locate it. Changes to this notice will be posted on this page with a new date; material changes will also be notified in the app.
